Easy Does It!

St. Simon's Island Pier was home to two pelicans. While we were visiting, we saw them almost daily. They kept the fishermen company and in return would become the recipients of a fine meal.

I took this photo from a safe distance - because pelicans prefer only humans with fish. But I wanted to see how close I could come to this one pelican who seemed quite harmless. So I inched forward... after all, I didn't want that monstrous beak to swallow my camera!

 

 

 

 

Pelican didn't seemed disturbed by my nearness so...

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Hey lady, that's close enough! And the beautiful (ok, maybe just to me) pelican flew off out of sight over the Atlantic Ocean.
