Pistol and Pumpkin

Pistol (at left) is the smallest member of our pack and our token male. His ability to work a crowd far surpasses his physical stature! We welcomed this handsome charmer into our family after being relinquished by his previous owner because of diabetes. Mr. P. is the perfect gentleman for his insulin injections and wins the affection of every vet and vet tech he meets. A perpetual lap hound, Pistol never runs out of love and kisses for his family, friends, and admirers.

Pumpkin (at right) redefines the role of Diva. We rescued the red Doxie when she was abandoned for euthanasia after a back injury left her paralyzed. Everyone but Pumpkin believed that she would never walk again. After years in a doggie wheelchair and water therapy, her tenacity and enthusiasm won out, and she now stands on all fours. Armed with wildly outrageous ego, Pumpkin keeps our family safe from postal carriers, trick-or-treaters, and the occasional falling leaf.    anonymous

Frank Bruynbroek's magnificent black-and-white portraits of rescued dogs capture all the love, charm, and companionship that these animals had in store for the right adoptive parents. The accompanying stories of their trials and triumphs impart the importance of saving not only a dog-but any pet-from shelter life.

Please help cease the senseless killing of nearly 4 million unwanted animals each year by spaying and neutering your pets. Visit Frank Bruynbroek's website: http://www.fbsite.com/
