I got Martina in the cold month of January 2005 from the Glendale Humane Society in California. I selected her after interviewing three other dogs over the course of about three weeks. The thing that made me know she was my dog was her beautiful little howl, which she welcomed me with every time I went to visit her. She had a soulful spirit for sure, and a hunger to be on the outside again, in the care of someone who loved her. That "little howl" has turned into a daily aria, waking me every morning at 8 a.m. sharp, and reminding me at all hours of the day when it's time to eat, to walk, and to play. She is the most uninhibited singer I've ever met, and the true love of my life. anonymous
