Sunday

While i was in France, I passed the Brigitte Bardot Foundation, and one of its representatives asked me to adopt a puppy. Jokingly, I replied, "Only if its a tiny one I can keep with me on the plane." "Got it," the representative replied, after which she took me to a vet where someone had left a toy Yorkie to be put to sleep. And there was Sunday, holding her little arms toward me, making the prettiest sounds that implied "Take me!" which i did. She was not young, had an enormous belly, and an atrophied hind leg; so she went on a diet, had surgery, and now walks and is very pretty. Sunday goes everywhere we go, including museums and theaters; and we are as happy with her as she is with us.                   anonymous

Frank Bruynbroek's magnificent black-and-white portraits of rescued dogs capture all the love, charm, and companionship that these animals had in store for the right adoptive parents. The accompanying stories of their trials and triumphs impart the importance of saving not only a dog-but any pet-from shelter life.

Please help cease the senseless killing of nearly 4 million unwanted animals each year by spaying and neutering your pets. Visit Frank Bruynbroek's website: http://www.fbsite.com/
