Hawk in My Backyard

This is a Red-tailed Hawk showing its red tail in flight. Wikipedia photo

Below are photos of the hawk I spotted for the first time in my life this morning. It was perched on a nearby limb in my backyard.

I was so excited to see the rarely seen bird so close. It is sitting next to a rope that has a bird feeder attached to it. Its diet is mainly small animals, but it also includes birds and reptiles.

Not wanting to disturb the hawk, I snapped this picture from my door. You can see how the birdhouse extends from the limb.

My feeders were low on seed, so I decided to risk my life to replenish them! I didn't know how the hawk would react to me. The hawk didn't budge until I came very close to the feeder. I was a human intruder, and it felt threatened so  it took flight. Will it come back?

The visitor as I captured him on my camera while outside filling the feeders.
