Place and Time

Early one morning in the Mar Vista area of South Laguna a family of deer came out of an adjacent water course.  I was able to take these photos from a balcony.  I think they could sense me but couldn't see me. 

It was ironic to see them in and around the "story poles" of a new home that will be built in the neighborhood - further shrinking the habitat for them and other wild animals.  Something spooked them and they bounded up a very steep hill quickly, with so few strides and so little effort.  In an instant they were gone.
