Place and Time

We rescued Maya in December 1998. She was a puppy who had been abandoned on a freeway in Riverside, California and was picked up by a Laguna Beach resident, who gave her to a neighbor of ours who couldn't, or didn't know how to take care of a puppy. She ended up at our door one night and she stole our hearts. Our Vet. estimated that she was 4 to 7 months old at the time. We took her in and loved her and she loved us. We have had her for almost 10 years....she would have been 10 years old this May.
Our lives forever changed when Maya came into our lives.  My Mom Dolores, my sister Andrea, her husband Bob, my boyfriend Mike and I have been her caretakers...walks at the beach, in the mountains, in the neighborhoods, and on trails all over.  Not to mention all the love she gave back to  us. We will miss her terribly, but will just have to be thankful that we took such good care of her and that she loved us so much... she chose us to be her family.
