This is called the "Calle de Las Flores", the Street of Flowers. The tower in the background was originally the Minaret for the Mosque. I used to see this picture in practically every Spanish textbook from which I taught. It is an amazing city. At one time Cordoba had the second largest Muslim population after Mecca.
These are two interior views of the Mosque (La Mezquita). It is an amazing place.
Here is a statue of the Jewish Philospher, Rabbi and Physician Maimonides. He was born in Cordoba in 1135. His works went on the influence other philosophers such as Spinoza, Aquinas and Newton.
